Brad Lambert's story
Growing up in Lahti, Brad Lambert moved quickly through local ranks before appearing in Finland’s top league as a mid-teen. He spent his formative years in the Pelicans system, then split the 2019–20 season between HIFK’s U20 squad—where he posted 38 points in 42 games—and four appearances with the senior Liiga club, collecting two points. He holds both Finnish and Canadian citizenship through his parents.
On 8 May 2020 Lambert signed a two-year deal with JYP Jyväskylä and finished the 2020–21 campaign with 15 points in 46 games, the highest total among under-18 players in the league. The following season proved rocky: after recording six points in his first 24 contests he and his club parted ways, and a midseason move back to the Pelicans yielded just four points in 25 games.
Those struggles affected his draft standing, yet Winnipeg selected him 30th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. In June 2022 Seattle acquired his WHL rights. After attending Jets training camp he signed a three-year entry-level contract on 12 October 2022 and began with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose. After 14 games and three points he was sent to the Seattle Thunderbirds, where he produced 48 points in 26 regular-season games and added 26 points in 17 playoff contests, helping Seattle capture the 2023 Ed Chynoweth Cup and reach the Memorial Cup final.
Back with Manitoba for 2023–24, Lambert earned a selection to the 2024 AHL All-Star Game and finished the season with 20 goals and 52 points, second among rookies, which placed him on the AHL All-Rookie Team. With some Jets regulars resting before the playoffs he was recalled and made his NHL debut on 18 April 2024, recording an assist in a 4–2 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Internationally, Lambert drew attention as a 15-year-old at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup by scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland. He has appeared at three IIHF World Junior Championships, earning bronze in 2021, silver in 2022 and finishing fifth in 2023. His game is built around offensive instincts and production at pace.
