2022 MLB WAR: the wins every player adds
WAR — wins above replacement — adds up what a player brings: at the plate, on the bases, in the field, plus a positional adjustment, compared with a replacement player. This is fWAR (FanGraphs' version, distributed through MLB's API), with its components, next to PickALeague's PAL Rating. Baseball-Reference's bWAR, computed differently, may differ.

How it's calculatedHide the method
WAR and its components (batting, baserunning, fielding, positional, replacement; for pitchers, FIP-based) are fWAR, read as is from MLB's API (statsapi, 'sabermetrics' stats); the values are identical to FanGraphs'. Never mixed with bWAR. PAL Rating is PickALeague's (see the PAL page).
Data: MLB (statsapi) and Baseball Savant (Statcast).
