1. The roster

You build 23 players under a $95.0M cap, using real league contracts. One $12M star forces you to find bargains elsewhere: that is where the game is won.

2. Active players

You pick who is active once, and those players keep earning points. No daily chore: they stay active until you sit them. Whenever you feel like it — an injury, a cold streak, a goalie who lost the net — you change who is active and who sits.

When you do change someone, it takes effect the next day.

We do not guess injuries for you: following your players is part of the game. An injured player left active earns nothing while a replacement sits on your bench. NHL injuries

3. Scoring

The standings do not only count points: they also show what each million spent returns. A modest, well-chosen team can beat a roster of stars.

4. Lock and trades

Until you confirm, change whatever you like. Confirm your 23 and the roster is set: you still dress and sit freely, but swapping a player costs a trade.

Dropping a player costs one trade; the replacement is free.

5 trades for the season

Regular season only. The playoffs will get their own pool.
