Oskar Olausson

Growing up in Stockholm, Oskar Olausson moved from Tranås AIF into HV71’s development pipeline, advancing year by year through the U16, U18 and U20 ranks. He also featured at the TV‑Pucken for Småland, where he posted eleven points and began to attract wider attention among European prospects.

The 2020–21 campaign marked his jump toward pro hockey. After an eye‑catching scoring run at J20 level, he was promoted to HV71’s senior side in the SHL and later finished that season on loan with Södertälje SK in HockeyAllsvenskan. Those multi‑level outings helped him enter the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, where Colorado selected him 28th overall in the first round.

Rather than remain in Sweden, Olausson signed a three‑year entry‑level deal with Colorado and shifted to North America, committing to the Barrie Colts in the CHL. He adapted quickly to smaller ice, producing goals and points that led to a midseason trade to the Oshawa Generals. Following the junior season he joined the Colorado Eagles in the AHL for their playoff run, and in 2022 he recorded his first AHL goal and later made his NHL debut with the Avalanche before returning to AHL duties.

Internationally, he has represented Sweden at junior levels: bronze at the 2019 Hlinka‑Gretzky Cup, a fifth‑place finish at the 2021 World Junior Championship, and appearances in the 2022 junior tournament prior to its cancellation. Those tournaments rounded out his development against top peers.

As a right winger, Olausson is known for his offensive instincts — finishing chances and creating plays in prominent roles. His career so far shows an ability to transfer scoring touch across leagues and rink sizes while developing the physical tools to compete in pro systems.
