Shane Wright traded to Predators for Matthew Wood

Shane Wright is joining the Nashville Predators after a trade with the Seattle Kraken on November 1, 2026. The Kraken are sending Wright to the Predators in exchange for Matthew Wood in a straight one-for-one deal, according to The Hockey News and Sportsnet.

Daily Faceoff reports that both Wright and Wood are former first-round draft picks. The outlet also points out that this move provides Wright with a change of scenery as he shifts from Seattle to Nashville.

According to The Hockey News, Sportsnet and Daily Faceoff, the transaction is a direct swap between the Predators and the Kraken, with no additional players or draft picks mentioned in the headlines. Each team is therefore banking on a single player in this deal, with no further details made public so far in the brief reports from these outlets.
