WAR and PAL Rating, 2026
How we rate →WAR: the EPA (expected points added) of every play, above replacement level, shared among those who made it, then converted to wins (35.3 points = one win). PAL Rating scores performance from 0 to 100 against regulars in the same group (50 = median).
PAL: dimensions
Where WAR comes from (in wins)
The line's share of his team's offense (15% of targeted passes, 25% of other dropbacks, 55% of runs), split among linemen by snaps. A unit measure, not the player: no public data isolates the lineman.
A lineman's WAR is his team's line's, split by his snaps: it reflects the unit, not the player alone.
