Football write for us — NFL guest posts

Played college football, coached a high-school team, or have studied the NFL draft for years? Pitch an NFL guest post on a player, a team, a contract or what the field taught you.

Your read of the game, signed and argued, rather than a recap.

What we are looking for

Our newsroom already summarizes every game and every transaction across five leagues. What we are missing — and what a guest post can bring — is lived experience and a signed opinion. This is not a sports news write for us page; it is the opposite:

  • analysis of a player or prospect you have watched up close, in junior, college or the pros;
  • fantasy hockey and pools: what years of running a league have taught you;
  • the QMJHL and junior hockey, seen from the stands or the bench;
  • the salary cap and contracts, explained by someone who takes them apart;
  • minor and AAA hockey, from a parent's point of view;
  • officiating, gear and training: the craft behind the game;
  • baseball, basketball, football and soccer, from the same angle: your experience first.

What we decline

  • game recaps and transaction roundups: we already publish them;
  • promotional pieces for a product, a service or a business;
  • sports betting, casinos, picks, crypto and game streaming, in any form;
  • text already published elsewhere, including on your own blog.

Sports guest post guidelines

  1. 800 to 2,000 words, original and unpublished.
  2. One link to your site, in your bio.
  3. Your byline under the title and a two-sentence bio at the end.
  4. We edit the piece; you approve the final version before it goes live.
  5. We translate it into the other language: it is published in English and French.
  6. No betting, casino, crypto or streaming topics, and no promotional pieces.

Links: we do not sell links

We do not sell links. No guest post is paid for, either way, and we do not answer “link insertion” or sponsored-post offers.

The link in your bio is nofollow by default. It may become a followed (dofollow) link when the author is a real person with a real site, at our discretion.

How it works

  1. To submit a guest post, sports fans and writers alike use the form below, with or without a finished draft. You get an email right away explaining what comes next.
  2. We read every pitch within seven business days and reply either way: yes, no, or “yes, but from this angle”.
  3. If we accept, you send the piece. We edit it and send you the final version.
  4. We translate it, then both versions go live together, with your byline.

Submit a guest post

A few lines are enough to start: the topic, the angle, and why you are the right person to write it. Sports write for us Canada and beyond — pitches from anywhere are welcome. Fields marked with an asterisk are required.

So we can reply. Never published.

The idea, the angle, and what qualifies you to write it. At least 120 characters.

Optional: Google Docs, Dropbox or similar, shared by link.

Optional: PDF, Word, RTF, ODT or plain text, up to 10 MB.

Optional. If you only have an idea, the pitch is enough.

Two sentences: who you are and what ties you to the topic.
