Daily Faceoff has published a consensus top 250 fantasy hockey ranking ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season, offering poolies a consolidated draft board built from the opinions of four fantasy analysts. The list is designed for standard multi-category leagues and aims to provide a single reference point going into fall drafts.

Four analysts, one consensus draft board

Each analyst produced an individual ranking using scoring settings that mirror many common league formats. For skaters, the focus is on goals, assists, power play production, shots on goal, hits and blocked shots, with other stats such as plus-minus also factored in despite their limitations for real-world evaluation.

Goalies are ranked using wins, goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts, categories that tend to drive fantasy value at the position. The goal is to align the list with how players contribute in typical category leagues rather than strictly real-life impact.

To turn the four lists into a single top 250, Daily Faceoff did more than just average the rank numbers. A straight average treats a move from first to 10th as equivalent to a move from 200th to 210th, even though early-round shifts are far more significant. Instead, each rank is converted into a value, those values are averaged, and then players are re-ordered based on the result.

Players omitted from an analyst’s list receive a penalty in this process, reflecting that at least one expert did not see them as draft-worthy. Of the 250 names that make the final board, 233 appear on all four lists, indicating substantial agreement across the panel on most fantasy-relevant options.

Consensus rankings to be paired with ADP tool

Alongside the ranking itself, Daily Faceoff plans to roll out a tool that compares its consensus board to average draft position (ADP) data from major fantasy platforms. The feature will highlight players the site’s analysts rank higher or lower than their current market price.

For fantasy managers, that combination of a consensus top 250 and ADP comparison should make it easier to spot potential bargains and avoid overpaying for overhyped names. The package is positioned as a central resource for preparing drafts in NHL-based fantasy hockey leagues for the 2026-27 season.
